What on earth is an AR-OGAINE, you ask?
It's an acronym for:
Adventurous [adventure]
Rugged [racing]
Outdoor
Group
Activity
Involving
Navigation and
Endurance
For newcomers and experienced navigators alike, an Odyssey AR-Ogaine is a race
in which competitors travel on foot across the course, orienteering with map and
compass from checkpoint to checkpoint. The AR-Ogaine is effectively an
orienteering course that would be seen in an adventure race where teams plot
UTMs for each of the locations of the checkpoints on the map. Each checkpoint
has a point value.
A compass, a good pair of shoes, a backpack with food and water, and the desire
to enjoy the great outdoors are the basic necessities for a fun day at this
family-friendly OAR event! (More details available here.)
"We had a great time, this being our first experience with your organization.
The course was well laid out and the location was superb." ~ Shaughn, '09 Mill
Mtn Challenge AR-OGAINE
"Thanks for putting on the event last weekend at Douthat. We all enjoyed it
immensely." ~ Peter, '08 Douthat AR-OGAINE
