Costa Rica – Friday, October 24, 2008
Hello Adventure Racers,
Adventure racing in Costa Rica is alive and kicking. We are into our
10th season of organizing races and we are excited about the events
coming up. Here is what we have scheduled for 2008 / 2009:
1. 24 Hours of Costa Rica (Expedition race – December 6 & 7)
2. The Coast to Coast Challenge (6 day expedition race – April 20 - 26)
3. Orosi Valley Race (1 day race – June 6)
4. The Pacuare Adventure Race (3 day stage race – August 8, 9 & 10)
For each of these events we have designed itineraries for
international teams. You just have to show up at the airport ready to
have fun and we will take care of the rest.
The next race on the calendar is The 24 Hour of Costa Rica - Arenal
celebrating its 7th anniversary this year. The 24 hours of Costa Rica
is ideal for teams looking for a shorter international race. This
year's edition of the race take place in the shadows of the active
Arenal Volcano. The race offer a tough PRO route and the more
accessible SPORT route for teams that are just getting started in the
sport of adventure racing.
The 9th edition of The Coast to Coast Challenge will start on the
Caribbean Coast at 9am on April 20th 2009. Teams will bike, hike,
climb and paddle across Costa Rica through tropical rain and cloud
forest, up and over the continental divide and along country roads
passing typical Costa Rican villages. Teams will have 143 hours
(almost 6 days) to complete the 550+ km route across Costa Rica.
The 3 day 2008 Pacuare Adventure Race just finished a few weeks ago
and we have already set dates for the 2009 10th edition of the race.
All the races have set itineraries but we are always willing to adapt
to what you would like to do. CtoC Adventures is a full service
travel agency so organizing a trip for family and friends or adding a
few days on the beach after the race are all possibilities.
