Checkpoint Zero Adventure Racing and Ian Adamson's Terra Traverse,
along with CPZero expedition race promoters, have formed a strategic
partnership to cross promote the Terra Traverse Adventure Race, set
for early October 2008 in Quebec Canada, and the 2008 Checkpoint
Tracker Adventure Racing Series presented by Inov-8, a national, year
long series of adventure races featuring online coverage of all Series
events at CheckpointTracker.com.
Terra Traverse will provide a free entry to the inaugural 2008 Terra
Traverse Adventure Race to the team that wins the Expedition
Challenge, a new "series within a series" centered around the three
multi-day expedition races in the Checkpoint Tracker Adventure Racing
Series.
The team that earns the most points by competing in at least two of
the three multi-day events in the CP Tracker Series, the Odyssey
Adventure Racing Endorphin Fix, the Mountain Adventure Race or the
Gravity Play, will be awarded a zero cost entry to the 2008 Terra
Traverse, a prize valued at $10,000.
Each team's Expedition Challenge points total will be determined by
adding together points from that teams best finishes at any two of the
three qualifying multi-day events.
If the winning team has already registered for and paid the entry fee
to Terra Traverse they will be issued a refund in full. As spots are
limited, all teams interested in competing for a free entry to Terra
Traverse are encouraged to register for the race now at
TerraTraverse.com. Registration fees for Terra Traverse will be
refunded to the winning team after points totals are finalized
following the Xstream Expedition.
"Terra Traverse represents the next evolution of adventure racing and
an exciting one at that. The format they've embraced will ensure a
better experience for everyone involved from the racers to the fans to
the sponsors," commented Paul "Yak" Angell, president of Checkpoint
Zero, LLC. "I'm very excited that we'll be sending the team that
dominates the three multi-day adventure races in the Checkpoint
Tracker Series to Quebec to compete against the worlds best adventure
racers."
"Checkpoint Zero continues to innovate with the Checkpoint Tracker
Adventure Racing Series," said Ian Adamson, Terra Traverse Race
Director. "They're helping to create a broader spectator base by
providing a way for more race promoters to deliver online race
coverage at low cost. We're looking forward to supporting their
efforts to grow the sport."
