Kick Your Season Off Early With an Adventure Race Training Day in Ha   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #326 of 446 |
Racers - check out the details below for a training event coming up at
the end of the month. I've done two of these before and Marc really
does a great job. He has some beautiful terrain to work with out there
and he enjoys getting you off trail to some very pretty locations.

This is a great chance to introduce someone new to the sport, to run
an early race to ramp up for the summer season, or to just come out
and have fun!

If you are in need, I can help work out canoe rentals through Umiak or
another supplier for the group.

-Chris

Get a jump start on the Adventure Racing season with the earliest
`summer' race I've seen. See how prepared you are for the bigger
races and have a lot of fun on the edges of the northeast kingdom.

This an approximately 8 hour training race centered in Hardwick,
Vermont for teams of 2 or 3. New teams as well as experienced teams
are invited, and veterans are encouraged to team up with first time
racers. This race includes:

* Hiking
* Orienteering
* Canoeing (Provide your own. I may be able to get one for you for
a few if you can't find one. Contact me.)
* Mountain biking
* Beautiful views
* A post-race meal
* Prizes

If you are interested, please contact me at marc_considine@...
by Monday the 21st. If you need a partner, let me know.

Gear Check: Please be at Hazen Union School in Hardwick, Vermont by
8:00 on Saturday the 26th. Bikes and canoes will be transported for
you from the school to transfer areas.

Mandatory Race Briefing and Map Handout: Approximately 8:45.

Race Start: Approximately 9:00 am
I expect racers to finish by 4:00 pm. All Racers must be off the
course by 6:00 pm. Teams not making certain checkpoints within time
limits will be directed to a shortened course.

Dinner: Soon after the last racers finish. Dinner will be served by
6:00, and sooner if possible. Extra people (ie. family members) are
welcome to attend the dinner, (donations accepted) but please let me
know that they are coming.

Cost: $40 per person payable to the Hazen Union Outing Club.
Flexible. Extra donations accepted.

Please contact marc_considine@... if you are interested in
joining us for this race. We already have two confirmed teams and
room for plenty more.
