The First Annual Herc Open Vermont Speed Hiking Competition is a one
day event taking place on August 11, 2007 in the Lincoln Peak area of
Sugsrbush resort, Warren Vermont. The event includes hiking and/or
running on trails over mountain peaks of significant elevation. A
$25,000 cash purse is being put up by co-sponsors Unither
Nutriceuticals, Inc, makers of Herc Vitality Drink Mix
(www.buyherc.com) and Lung Rx, Inc (www.lungrx.com). Participants can
compete in either the Long Loop (approximately 16 miles) or the Short
Recreational Loop (approximately 5 miles). The event is being held to
benefit the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, a non-profit
organization (www.phassociation.org). The event will also include food,
music, family activities such as mountain biking, disc golf, and scenic
