OK, so we need some help this upcoming weekend in the Adirondacks. If you are available Friday night for registration or Saturday for race day, we'd love to have you join us. Catch is, you have to join us Saturday Night for the Party!!!!
A fundraiser for a not for profit organization, Ultimate Sports Association, it is imperative that there are volunteers to enable The Ultimate Adventure Races to occur. These individuals are a much needed source of information for support crews and competitors out on the course, as well as the reassuring and welcoming faces that teams first encounter when they arrive at a checkpoint or cross the finish line. They help the registration and post event festivities go smoothly. The Ultimate Adventure Races would not be able to occur without you!
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for all our races in the series.
Volunteer Perks
To sweeten the deal even more for Volunteers, we have created the Volunteer Perk Program.
1. Volunteer for one event and receive an individual 25% off an Ultimate Adventure Race.
2. Volunteer for two events and receive an individual 50% off an Ultimate Adventure Race.
3. Volunteer for 3 events and receive an individual free entrance in a 2007 UAR Event.
4. Credits are not transferable and have NO cash value.
5. All Volunteers will receive a race Tek Shirt.
5. All Volunteers will receive free entrance into the post-race awards dinner/party
Volunteering can be quite demanding, but it also is an exciting, fun, fulfilling experience, with the opportunity to make new friends, have a great weekend and give to a worthy cause. As important as it is that we all have a good time, it is most important that the competitors are safe and well looked after.
Volunteers will be self-sufficient during the race. Expect to bring your own food and gear while out on the course. Many roles require you be comfortable in the wilderness, so please come prepared. We will let you know in advance whether you will be in a remote access area, near your vehicle or at one of our camps so that you can plan your requirements appropriately.
For most volunteer roles we will need you to arrive the day before the start of the race. Although we will give you most information prior to race(s) dates, there will be detailed information necessary to go over with you in person which will be done in a prescheduled, one-on-one meeting with one of our staff. This will give us the opportunity to better get to know you and answer further questions. It will also provide a chance for you to meet and get to know the competitors and fellow volunteers before the race starts.
