Joe,
I well remember you as being one of the BEST members of The Committee To Elect
Gil Hodges into Baseball's Hall of Fame. The thing that makes me smile about
all of this is the labor of love that this involves. What a wonderful & just
cause this is. You've been doing a terrific job on behalf of Gil and his family
and I appreciate EVERYTHING you have done. You know how much I love Gil and I
think, as a "family", we need to step up the fight. I have several ideas that I
would like to run past everyone. I'm (finally!) retired now and have LOTS of
time available.
Within the next several days I will give you some of the ideas that I have. Gil
was such a beautiful man ~ we CAN'T give up on his behalf. Trust me everyone ~
I KNOW we can change the opinions of MANY HOF voters. I can't think of ANYTHING
I would rather do than pick up the fight for Gil's enduction.
I am going to create a website for our effort, will have the info soon. God
Bless Gil's memory, Gil's family, Gil's Brooklyn Dodgers' family and all of our
efforts on Gil's behalf. If you thought I fought hard before ~ wait until this
time around.
Merry Christmas to everyone concerned. We can DO IT if we all try harder than
ever before.
My Very Best,
Ron Cromer

back into the effort.

RON I REMEMBER YOU WELL--YOU DID MORE THAN ENOUGH TO ATTEMPT TO GET
GIL IN--I HAVE TWO OF YOUR GIL JERSEYS AND ONE IS SIGNED BY BRANCA-
PIGNATANO-SHAMSKY- ----DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AS THE 64 VOTERS ARE
HARD TO REACH--BUT MY ANGLE IS TO HAVE GIL NOMINATED FOR THE BUCK
O'NEIL AWARD--WE CAN ALL WRITE DIRECT TO THE HALL FOR THIS ONE
AND BUCK'S LAST WORDS WHEN HE SPOKE AT THE HALL WERE-"GIL HODGES
BELONGS IN THE HALL OF FAME" AND I HAVE THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
