The Baseball Hall of Fame has had a very ugly blemish on its face
because of the constant snubbing of one of the 1950's most feared
hitters not being allowed into its "lofty" halls. Gil Hodges was the
consumate power hitter, batting behind Snyder in the Dodger line-up.
He was also a damb fine first baseman (he suffers because he always
ended up second in the NL all-star game behind Stan Museal) who
constantly had over 100 RBI and +30 HR.
We who hold his memory dear need to petition as many HOF players
who make up the veterens committee for their votes for his incepting.
I wrote to the Hall in 2000 and was lucky enough to have one of its
staff members forward my letters to their particular recipient. Of
course this cost some money in postage but it seemed well worth it.
If you cannot afford the postage, I would urge you to at least write
to those members who played with him in the 50's or were influenced
by him as a couch. Members that have a particular interest in Hodges
being elected are Duke Snyder and Tommy Seaver (Seaver is quoted as
saying he owes his carear to Hodgers). If you hold his memory dear
PLEASE HELP!
