Rocky road for Giants
The Giants' reward for winning the NFC East was one of the toughest
schedules in the NFL, beginning with an absolutely brutal first six games.
As if playing the Indianapolis Colts in the Manning Bowl on Opening
Night wasn't enough, four of the Giants' first six games will be on the
road, including a game in Seattle against the NFC champs and divisional
road games in Philadelphia and Dallas. In all, the Giants will play
eight of their 16 games against 2005 playoff teams, including four
against defending division champs.
The good news for the Giants is they'll have their first three-game home
stand since 1983 when they face the Bucs, Texans and Bears in Weeks
8-10. They'll also have four prime-time games.
Meanwhile, Jets coach Eric Mangini will get an early chance to show his
former boss how he's doing as Gang Green plays Bill Belichick's Patriots
in Week 2 at the Meadowlands. Other Jet highlights include a Christmas
night matchup in Miami and a home game against Randy Moss and the
Raiders to close out the regular season.
