RE: [gcatri] Training question

Ed, I have an article I saved from some magazine recently about effective
treadmill workouts that is at the office that I will either summarize or scan in
and attach and send you after the holidays.

Subject: [gcatri] Training question

Hello all,

I respect the opinions of this group and have a question about
training under difficult and limiting circumstances. For the next
several months I am in a situation in which I have no access to a
bike or a pool, and only limited ability to run outdoors. I do have a
fairly well equipped gym and a treadmill. Given those limitations I
have the following questions:

- What are good bike training exercises in lieu of actually biking?
- What are good swim training exercises in lieu of actually swimming?
- What's the best way to train on a treadmill, considering that [for
me] running on a treadmill is the most mind-numbing experience I can
imagine?

I know that many of you are seasoned veterans and have trained for
many years, so I'm looking forward to your input.

Thanks!

Ed Whiston

Ed, tell me what kind of cake you like and I'll bring you a file in it. Aside from that, the next best thing is your trainer....do you have access to one?...

Mr. Whiston, As far as swimming goes, it's pretty hard to mimic actually swimming in a pool but as far as keeping in shape, resistance bands are good...
