Ed, I have an article I saved from some magazine recently about effective
treadmill workouts that is at the office that I will either summarize or scan in
and attach and send you after the holidays.

Subject: [gcatri] Training question
Hello all,
I respect the opinions of this group and have a question about
training under difficult and limiting circumstances. For the next
several months I am in a situation in which I have no access to a
bike or a pool, and only limited ability to run outdoors. I do have a
fairly well equipped gym and a treadmill. Given those limitations I
have the following questions:
- What are good bike training exercises in lieu of actually biking?
- What are good swim training exercises in lieu of actually swimming?
- What's the best way to train on a treadmill, considering that [for
me] running on a treadmill is the most mind-numbing experience I can
imagine?
I know that many of you are seasoned veterans and have trained for
many years, so I'm looking forward to your input.
Thanks!
