This is the 3rd Division. We played in the 1st division this season, but feel we are a little old for that speed! We could play 2nd but that is on Sunday nights, plus I am already on a team then.

Hi everybody-

Hope y'all are having a happy holiday season! There
is going to be a soccer scrimmage tomorrow evening at
7:30, directions below, come on out if you feel like
playing. I'll be there, 633-3494. I have never been
to these fields but I hear they are nice, and they
have lights...

Peace and God Bless-

Anne

We will be having practice this Wednesday.
It will be held at St. Gabriels.
It will begin at 7:30pm.

The directions are below:
Go west on Bee Caves past 360.
Turn LEFT on Barton Creek Blvd.
Continue on Barton Creek Blvd. for about 2.5 Miles
Turn RIGHT on Wimberly Lane (this street is a little
hard to see, but is right after some construction and
has a pretty median with flowers and stuff on it).
Turn LEFT into Saint Gabriels (this is the first left
you can take).
Drive through the parking lot to the field.

Hey soccer fans,

Well, we started with a bang and ended with a whimper. But it was a
fun season with some great goals. Not sure what the plan is for the
spring, but I'll be in touch over email in the coming weeks to see
what everyone wants to do. Enjoy the holiday season and we look
forward to seeing you on the pitch!

Hi everyone,

The consensus from our (limited) poll responses is to keep playing
through November 18th, then start back up again in the spring.

So we'll be back on the field this Sunday for another great game in
this perfect fall weather...3:00 at the Hyde Park Quaries. Hope you
can join us!

I would be up for playing again in January... I know I
have been bad about getting out there the last few
weeks and I cant make it out for the rest of November
due to Outside Ministry and travel conflicts, but
hopefully will be less committed after Jan 1...

THE FALL CITY LEAGUE HAS STARTED UP, AGAIN, SO THAT'S WHY I HAVEN'T MADE IT

ABOUT THE OTHERS, BUT THAT MIGHT BE A REASON FOR THE LACK OF ATTENDANCE.

Hi soccer fans,

We'll be out on pitch again this Sunday at 3, but I'm concerned that
we're loosing momentum. We haven't had more than 12-14 player
(including the "locals") since August. I guess World Cup fever is
dying out :-)

Let's try to have at least one more good game this Sunday...the
weather forecast looks great and there are no extra meetings/services
at Gateway. Hope to see you there!

Matt

ps--I also put together a quick survey from our Yahoo! group about our
league. Let me know what you think so we can plan for the
future...should take you 5 seconds.

Soccer is cancelled today because of rain. The rain-out hotline is
not updated, but I just spoke to the people at the soccer field
complex. Better luck next week...see you all then!

No offense to your cause, but I would really appreciate it if we could use this group solely for soccer stuff.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my sites.

This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can see here:
http://www.tbns.net/un77/human-buttons.htm
Where you can read the rest of this message as web page.

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://home.graffiti.net/lebanon2/smile.html

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:

The refugees allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are supposed to be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html
Here is another example: Burmese Refugees Withdraw Protest Against UNHCR http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm

"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm

Together we will build better world.

You could reach me fast via this form: http://unwes.batcave.net/email_me.htm and if you like to know more about me, you can google for my name 'osam altaee'.

You can call 443-1334 X208.  If any doubt, just call after 2pm.  If there isn't a weather message, then we're playing.

Also, who is interested in building a soccer team and league at the Quarry fields?  It would start in the Spring.  Just reply to todd.carlson@....

Thanks
Todd

Hi all,

Assuming it's not raining, we'll be playing soccer at 3:00 this

actually raining then we'll call it off. Hope to see you on the (dry)
field!

Hello all - I hope you don't mind me doing a little
promo for Gateway Outside! We are a new ministry at
Gateway whose mission is to lead people into the
splendor of God's creation where they can retreat from
the day to day noise of life through times of
Christ-centered fellowship, as well as silence, as
they experience the peace and rest of the Creator's
masterpiece. Yes, that's directly from the mission
statement :)

If you are interested in joining our listserve you can
do so through Gateway sports and rec at
http://www.gatewaychurch.com/site/connected/sportsAndRecreation.asp

There aren't a lot of emails posted to the list serve,
mostly just notices of all of our outdoor events
including a trip to Enchanted Rock on Oct 21 and a
mountain biking/camping trip the first weekend in
November.

See you on the pitch!

Anne Johnson
Gateway Outside Ministry Team (and fellow soccer
player)
