Buenos Aires, Feb 09: Argentina's tennis stars David Nalbandian and
Juan Ignacio Chela took to the central court where the Davis Cup
matches will be played for their training match, under the watchful
eye of team captain Alberto Mancini.
Speaking at a news conference, the Argentine captain acknowledged
that the team was facing a tough challenge, given the Swedish team's
experience and Davis Cup history.
"All the series are difficult to win. This series that we have ahead
of us is a series in which we have to be careful. It's a team that
has experience and a trajectory in the Davis Cup, also players with
a trajectory, and well, one should never relax," said Mancini.
The Argentine team comprises Agustin Calleri, Juan Ignacio Chela,
David Nalbandian and Jose Acasuso, who was drafted in when Gaston
Gaudio was forced to back out due to a shoulder problem.
The four Argentines will be playing Jonas Bjorkman, Robin Soderling,
Thomas Johansson and Simon Aspelin over three days from February 10
to 12.
It's only the second time for Argentina to play Sweden in the Davis
Cup. The Swedish team beat Argentina 4-1 in the last clash, which
took place in 1983.
