This has been the week for Gaston practicing in Buenos Aires:

Monday: he practiced with Monaco and his coach, Franco Davin on hard
court although not the fast carpet that Argentina will find in
Slovakia.

Tuesday: he practiced with Massa and Franco Davin again.

Wednesday: he practiced with Franco, and the doubles specialists
Etlis and Rodriguez but now under the orders of Mancini, the DC
captain. In the afternoon they gave interviews and on the evening
Gaston was seen in a cinema in Recoleta relaxing with some friends.

Thursday: Gaston, the doubles players and Mancini gave a press
conference in the morning at the TCA. Gaston stated "If we work as a
team, everything is possible and we can win this tie and be in the
final. I see us there, I think the tennis of this country deserves
to be there. [...] It doesn't matter who plays, all we all want is
to reach the final and if I have to stay in the bench and just cheer
I will, it doesn't matter. Luli knows very well what he does, what
are his choices and everybody has to respect them. [...] Now I'll
just relax until the flight, maybe play some golf and go have a nice
dinner with my parents." "Hrbaty is a very good player, a very cool
one too. He knows how to make me dizzy on court, he plays very good
specially on hard courts. The surface is very hard and therefore
very fast, that's their advantage but our players are also good and
we trust on ourselves. I trust David (laugh)"
"Many things have happened to me since my last participation in DC
back in 2002, so the situation is different. I won more tournaments
and after Roland Garros my objectives are pretty much here, about to
come true. What happened before is in the past, I already moved on.
I always want to play DC, but against Australia I was not one of the
best players to be chosen from. The surface and my game at the time,
coming back from an injury...you know, the other guys deserved it
better and I was right...the did an great job."
And he did, Gaston went to a country and he stayed there to spend
the rest of the day.

Friday: the team will leave to Viena at 12 pm where they will
reunite with Coria, Puerta, the AAT doctor and Nalbandian when
arriving to Slovakia.

That's it for all those asking me what was GG these days ;O)

Melu.
