GAR Masters:
We have an upcoming Learn to Row September 20-21 and 23rd and this is first
call for volunteers!
The format has been completely changed- see the website for a detailed
description. Instead of just a single session, we will have a Saturday,
Sunday, and Tuesday evening. This format is used by some very successful
clubs and in their experience, results in higher retention rates than the
single session.
Higher retention rates equals more rowers, and more rowers equals more
benefits for all of us: more opportunities with practices, coaching,
partners, racing, and even equipment. (Hopefully you have seen the new
practice schedule starting next month-isn't it great!! We will need to have
more rowers participating to keep all those options viable and sustainable
for the club.)
Soooo- please mark your calendars for Saturday the 21st, Sunday the 22nd,
and Tuesday the 23rd- any or all. We are going
to need everyone's help to
pull this off. ( And we are without Amber to do it all for us) Penny Edwards
is coordinating and Jayma and I are helping out. Go to the Master's calendar
and sign up as soon as possible. The times for Saturday and Sunday are 11-3
and for Tuesday 6:15-8pm. You may not need to be there the whole time on
Saturday or Sunday- I'll try to whittle that down for when we're on the
water. For now, please just set aside the block of time and sign up.
Let's get behind the club and our coaches and support this event!
Thanks,
Kelly
PS. For those of you doing the erg challenge, maybe we could have a "fun"
erg workout on those days, too, so you could still get a workout in. ( Just
a thought)
