Having problems with message search?
Let the record books show it is because the 70 year old got a big handicap! As a novice to rowing competitions, I object to the way they stop "masters" at 39 and lump us older folks into one "veteran" category instead of continuing the masters age groups like they do in running or swimming! Classed as a "veteran heavyweight" makes us 50 year old ladies sound like ancient boxers...BIG ancient boxers at that. (Can you tell I am really just miffed because my time tied me for first place until the handicap bumped me to third?)
We all had a lot of fun and many thanks go to to Justin and Jen for their encouragement and the erg workouts on Tuesday and Thursday nights!
And if anyone hasn't seen it before, the erg relay event is an amazing spectacle.

GAR Masters,
Here are the results from Southern Sprints this weekend. We had 6 GAR
Masters and our coach compete!
One category I cannot find the results for is Veteran Men and Women.

Lightweight women 500 m dash- Stacy 1:52.9 4th place
*This was against college lightweights!
Lightweight women 2K-Stacy 8:38 9th place
*Also against college lightweights!
Open Women Dash - Kelly 1:53 6th place, Jayma 2:10 8th place
*Kelly, Stacy, and Jayma competed against college women in this
category and did great!
Open Men 500m Dash-Justin 2nd place 1:22
*The man is part machine!
Open Women 2K-Jen 3rd place 7:42.9, Natalie 4th place 7:43.8
*This category was all college girls!
Great job to everyone who competed this weekend. Let's bring even
more GAR Masters next year!!
