i have some old steel cams i would like to get reground for a super
stock motor could someone give me some names or numbers of a good
cam grinder or maybe buy new thanks
To some people this may be a stupid question. ihave a 14horse briggs
stock what would be the best way to upsize the cam and which cams
would work and would i have to move to another class if i changed the
cam thanks mike
no stupid questions, just stupid answers. get acopy of your club rule book. some
briggs service manuals have camshaft specs.

All other engine specs being equal, the regrinds (Vogel, Lakota or whomever ),
will outperform the 18 hp cam. Usually by a very noticeable margin (We've seen
as much as 30 feet difference).
For governed, stock classes it really has become what you can get buy with and
not get caught.

Don't tell us feet difference. Tell us dyno numbers. Were the
tractors weighted the same? Did they drive in the same place on the
track? Were their tires cut the same with the same tire pressure? Did
they run the same gear? We want more info than mere speculation.
Maybe it was the "blinky boxes" huh? Or maybe if you run an
aftermarket cam your required to turn down the valve stems??
