Can anyone here port an engine and how much do you think you would
require for the job? Also how much more power do you think you can get
from doing this?
Thanks, Damon.

I have an icon "report as spam", and I'm not afraid to use it. I come here for
tractor pulling, not love/sex/nudes. I can usually tell by the excessive length
of their email adresses. They're usually coded so if you're stupid enough, or
lonely enough to go for 'em, they get paid.

larry my first suggestion is your plugs, then ck your valve clearances
very criticle on onans, ck compression should be no less than 10%
difference between cylinders, if that doesnt narrow your problem then
do a leakdown test

Alex & I have acquired a Cub 106 from a close friend. It's got the
original 10 horse Kohler K-series, on which we've installed 321 head.
(I took the 10 horse head to a machine shop and had .050 taken off it,
but I don't think the original engine could take the increase in
pressure, so I've decided to build a 321 for myself, on my Wheel Horse
10-8, heh heh) The 22-10.5-12 Carlisle Super Lugs came in, today for
his Cub. Still waiting for the wheels. Keep in mind, we're on
the "cheapie" budget, and just beginning. Alex is having a blast
installing parts, and he's a pretty sharp mechanic for an almost 14
year old. Truth be known, I'm getting just as big a kick out of him
enjoying himself. Mom says it's ok to do, so maybe I'll just try to
sweet talk her into a NOS 301 long block I have run across. (Gotta
catch mom in just the right mood for a $300.00 bump, though.) Any
tips, advice, warnings, etc., would be greatly appreciated from this
group.

you say if you are just throwing togeather a stock altered motor, you
must be loaded if you do not care if you blow it! You will gain horse
power even if it is a minute ammount, less wear from parts rotating
properly = hp. Do what you want, but if you want a good balance job,at
a very reasonable price, call Mike Bush @ Bush garage @ 618-544-8254
Mike has a computerized spin balancer that is by far more accurate than
some of the places doing the old bubble method of balancing. tell Mioke
