The official word from Those in the Know is no, Red Sox shortstud Nomar
Garciaparra and his soccer sweetie Mia Hamm are NOT engaged! Yet.
Yes, Nomar did do some diamond shopping last month, pricing pricey rocks in
the $50,000 to $100,000 price range. But thus far, the third finger on Mia's
left hand is still bare.
No. 5, who was back in town last week to do some Dunkin' Donuts appearances,
high-tailed it back to Texas to be with his lady love, who lives in Austin.
But he'll be back in town in two weeks to make the charity circuit.
``He doesn't have a fiancee yet,'' said our spy. ``But stay tuned.''
