Yes, I will be riding two 1200k's this year, so long as the bears and
mountain lions don't get me in Canada next week. I've been riding a little
better lately and don't want to end the year in July. One of the reasons I
decided on BMB again is because a couple Augusta riders will be joining me.
Doyce Johnson will be doing the ride, who has easily maintained his riding
shape from earlier this year. Also, Phil Cohen managed to qualify by doing
the SC200k, Texas 300k, along with the Colorado 400 and 600k.
My brother is the more sensible one in our family. He has decided not
to do BMB, even though it makes an excellent 1000k to finish off his R5000
award. I've never had much common sense. If all goes well on these two
rides, I may consider doing all 3 American 1200k's next year. Sometimes I
bite off more than I can chew, but little setbacks won't keep me down too
long. All of you have seen me suffer like a dog at one point or another on
one of these brevets, but with little baby steps I am convinced that I'm
getting better.
Kevin
