I was following Steve Phillips with his Twitter updates during his first 1200k ride in California. He rode in temps as low as the low 30s and highs in the mid-90s. From the staff reports, it sounds like there were some pretty substantial climbs, too.
 
Steve finished in 78 hours, 57 minutes. Jeff Bauer and Mary Crawley should be finishing soon (unless they have already).
