Many 1200s offer either constant climbs and drops (PBP) or stiff climbing
(BMB). The Cascade
offers both.
I think this is one of the most challenging 1200s on the calendar. The east side
of the state
has numerous climbs and drops; the profile does not give an indication of the
amount of
climbing.
On the other hand, west Washington has some very long climbs, high speed
descents and is HOT.
If youre looking for a real challenge, give this a go.
My DNF? After living at altitude for nearly a year, I was amazed at how much
power I could
develop and for how long. However I did not take into account how much pressure
it would put
on my feet, ligaments and tendons. Right now, if I pull my socks down, there is
about a half
inch depression where it is swollen.
Live and learn.
see ya,
Peter
