Hi all -

It's nice and cool outside, so it looks like a great day for
frisbee! Hope to see everyone at Citizen's at 5pm. It may be a
good day for some sick hucks and lay-outs...

Cheers,
Matt

Hey,
I just wanted to mention we will NOT be doing a men's team this year.
I did not get that much of a response and I am not sure if I really
have the time. Thanks anyways. Maybe next time.

Ken, thanks for replying.

Hey,
I was curious to see if there would be any desire (and enough people)
to put together an intramural team this fall. I would need to go to
the captain's meeting tonight if there is so please respond to me

Hi all -

We've been fighting with the dark lately so I think it is time to move
our game up a bit. Last week it sounded like this was OK with
everyone. Let's play at 5pm from now on. We'll probably wait until
DST ends (first Sunday in November) before we move the time up any
further.

Hey guys,

I'm just writing this email to give my thoughts on today's practice.
I'm really excited to have seen 18 people show up to play. I think our
games have gotten more competitive and our skills have improved ...
with that said, I think we can step it up another notch.

These past couple of weeks I have "tried", with some success, to be
somewhat of a coach. I get frustrated when we can't do some things
(such as dump, get in a stack, clear ... etc) and get excited when we
string together a series of passes that even the UF club team would
have a hard time stopping.

With that said, I am really looking forward to the intramural season
as I know that we have been improving and might be able to go even
further in the playoffs this year.

I was wondering if the IMG crowd would be able to meet somewhere on
campus at 5:15 pm on Thursday afternoon to go over some Ultimate
related things. This would include: applying a force, the stack, how
to clear ... and some other basics. I think if we can get this going
and get us all on the same page, we will get even better as a team.

Let me know what you guys think of the idea. I'll try to set up a
powerpoint (hopefully with Matt's help).

Miguel

Hi all -

We settled today on Westwood Middle School Field. It has a lot of
room, is in fairly good condition, and appears to stay pretty dry.
We'll be meeting there every Sunday from now on at the usual time (6pm).

Address:
3215 NW 15th Ave
Gainesville, FL 32605

See everyone next week!

Hi all -

I have no idea if the weather will be better at game time, but
I'll still definitely be ready to play at 6pm. Hopefully many of
you will be as well.

So let's consider frisbee to be a go as long as it is not pouring
rain directly over Westwood Middle School's field at 6pm.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi all -

Since we haven't yet settled on a field, let's play tomorrow
(Sunday) at Westwood Middle School (at the usual 6pm). This is
NOT the same place we played last week.

Directions:
Westwood Middle School is located at ~NW 15th Ave and NW 34th St.
From University/Newberry Ave., drive N on NW 34th St., cross NW
8th Ave, drive by Westside Park, and then you'll see Westwood
Middle School's fields on your right. You can park at Westside
Park or keep driving up to Westwood Middle School and park in
their parking lot.

After the game we can decide on a permanent location for our game
(or take suggestions for yet another field to try).

See everyone at 6pm! Call me (803-422-8521) if you're lost or
confused.

Cheers,
Matt

All -

If anyone happens to play at Finley tomorrow (Johnny?), will you
see if you can find our cones? I left them last week. They are
shorter than most cones and very faded orange. Hopefully someone
there will remember they belonged to me (Ashton or Phil would be
good people to ask).

Thanks,

Great showing today, guys!

Unless several of you want to voice a strong preference for a
particular field, I think we should be nomadic for one more week
and try Westwood Middle School next Sunday. I'll post a reminder
and directions later this week. Then we can decide what field to
stick with for the year.  Other suggestions are also welcome;
we're just looking for a field we know will be open and that is
centrally located.

Also, I brought home a pair of black flip-flops with green straps.
I'll bring them back next week or to the lab depending on who
they belong to (Erin?).

Cheers,

Sounds like a plan ... I just hope we can get 14 people out there.

So far I KNOW these are coming:

- Matt
- Me
- Brandon
- Chris
- Jessica
- Suzy Q
- Alex

People I hope/heard are coming, but am not sure:
- Erin
- Tobin
- Jeremy
- Mike
- Alina
- Rich
- Ken
- Matt T.
- Johnny
- Graham

and I KNOW these are not coming:
- Drew
- Nik

I can't remember anyone else, but if you get this go ahead and confirm
if you are coming or not.

Thanks, and I hope to see everyone out there.

Miguel

Hi all -

With on campus fields not being much of an option during the
school year and a contingent of us obviously not crazy about
continuing to drive all the way out to Citizen's, we're in need of
a new field. I went scouting this morning at local elementary and
middle schools and I think I found a pretty good field that has
probably been suggested before.

Today let's try playing at A.Quinn Jones Student Center at the
corner of NW 12th St. and NW 8th Ave. Anyone that drives NW 8th
Ave to Citizen's has probably noticed this field before. I've
never seen anyone using it at 6pm on Sundays. The field runs
parallel to NW 8th Ave. and the parking is located at NW 12th St.
beside the field. It is a pretty central location where I think
our east siders can still ride their bikes and our west siders
won't have to make a 20 minute car ride.

We'll see what everyone thinks and then we can discuss if we want
to stay there. Other possible options are Littlewood Elementary
at NW 8th Ave. and NW 34th St. or Westmood Middle at NW 15th Ave
and NW 34th St.

We'll be the only ones out there so I hope everyone comes out and
we have a great game!

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Matt
