I apologize to those of you who have received this info from several
sources. Just trying to get the word out.
Soccer practices are starting this week.
Our fall contract for the practice field began August 16. This
season we have been assigned Mud Creek field number 3 on Wednesday
evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm. We will be sharing the field with the
women's team again so we can have scrimmages. They have already
contacted us to let us know they will be there this coming Wednesday,
the 20th, and are hoping we have a good showing for a game with
them.
Do not play on the fields if they are closed due to bad weather.
Also, remember that these practices are for registered GACSL players
only.
Mud Creek Complex is located at 5600 Ernest Barrett Parkway, Powder
Springs, GA 30127.
If your team chooses to have practices at Noonday, remember - we do
not have contracts for the use of these fields for practices - you
must yield the fields to the teams who are scheduled there and wait
for them to finish. Also, only practices at our contracted fields
are endorsed by GACSL. Participation in practices at any other time
or location are at the players' risk.

Practice tonight on field 5 at Noonday at 7 p.m.
Second, I apologize to everyone who has received the x-rated email from
someone who had recently joined the group. I have banned this member
after having already sent a warning about some non soccer related
postings. Obviously, the last one was not just annoying clutter but
vulgar and offensive.

Please keep this group only for information directly related to the soccer league. I will have to block messages from those who do otherwise.

Meditation can keep BP in control WASHINGTON: Meditation is not only a stress buster, it also helps in regulating high blood pressure with an added benefit of bypassing possible side effects and hazards of anti-hypertension drugs, says a new study.
In the new meta-analysis, researchers from University of Kentucky conducted nine randomized, controlled trials with Transcendental Meditation as a primary intervention for hypertensive patients.
The findings revealed that practicing Transcendental Meditation led to approximate reduction of 4.7 mm systolic blood pressure and 3.2 mm diastolic blood pressure.
Dr. James W. Anderson, lead author and professor of medicine at the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine, insisted that reduction the blood pressure could significantly reduce the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease without the side effects of drugs.
"Adding Transcendental Medication is about equivalent to
adding a second antihypertension agent to one's current regimen only safer and less troublesome," he said
I am going to send another message to the captains to ask them to have those who are interested contact me directly. Right now I have a lot of "first names" but need whole names and the names of the teams they are currently registered with. I am not sure if we can pull this off as so far I have a list of about 10-11 people, but I know some will have to miss multiple games. Some players have said they can only play on Mondays. Also, I'm not sure we are going to find enough females. We could include players under age 30, however, if anyone knows some players who are younger.

Practice on Noonday 5 at 7 pm tonight (Wednesday). Be aware that there are scattered thunderstorms predicted today.
We talked last week at practice about trying to form some 11-a-side teams over the summer since we may not have a practice field. We need to get those plans firmed up, so let me know if you are interested. Remember that this would be in addition to your 7-a-side team schedule.

The Condors could use a female player this Saturday 5/3. I am out of town because my mother had surgery. I think we have 3 females who will be there but want to be sure we're covered. If anyone can help out, it would be great.
Tonight(Wednesday)should be a great night to practice. The weather is
so fine. The turnouts have been strong. We had two scrimmages going
last week. Come join us.
7 p.m. at Noonday 5.
We have been having some great turnouts at our Wednesday practice
sessions. Try to join us tonight at about 7 p.m. on Noonday 5. With
more rain predicted for later in the week, this may be our big chance
to play.
Hope to see you out there.
Marguerite
Barring any sudden downpours, we should be able to get in a practice on
field 5 around 7 p.m. tonight.
Since we don't update the GACSL weather hotline during the week, I
often check the NASA website at www.nasa-ga.org to see if they are
holding practices on the Noonday fields before I head out. I figure if
it's wet enough for them to cancel, we probably shouldn't be out there
either.

Condors
We are doing practices on field 5 around 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
The last practice had a great turnout. We ended with a scrimmage
against a group of players from GAWSA.
Hope to see you out there tonight.
This group is for everyone involved with GACSL or who would like to
make contact with our league and perhaps join a team.
Captains, if you would like to post notices here to invite registered
players from other teams to guest play on your team, please do so.
Players,if you are available to guest play, let us know.
If you are having practices and welcome players from other teams,
please post that info.
I will post information here about sign-ups for the various seasons so
any interested players can know how to go about registering.
