MACSA Rules at 2006 National Championships

MACSA WINS SIX GOLD MEDALS at 2006 U.S. FUTSAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Six teams from the Mexican American Community Services Agency (MACSA)
were crowned as 2006 US Futsal National Champions after four days of
intense and exciting competition in Anaheim CA on July 20-23. MACSA
won national championships in the boys U12, U14, and U16 divisions
and in the girls U10, U12, and U16 divisions. Several of the boys and
girls teams totally dominated their divisions during the competition.
MACSA girls were finalists in the U14 division as well. Several boys
and girls MACSA teams were repeat winners having won the National
Championship previously in 2005. MACSA has won more U.S. Futsal
National Championships than any other club since the tournament was
begun in 1985 – a record 23 national titles.

"This amazing performance of six 2006 national championships makes
MACSA the best performing Futsal Club in the history of the event and
Mario Gonzalez, Director of the clubs' futsal program since it's
inception, deserves much of the credit according to Alex Para,
President of U.S. Futsal." Mario credits the support from the
players, 5coaches, and most importantly the support he receives from
the families and community for the success of the club.

MACSA entered 12 teams in the 2006 event with 140 players ranging
from ages 7 to 19 participating in the national tournament. In
another 2006 tournament record, MACSA Futsal entered more teams in
the 2006 national competition than any other club.
Hundreds of MACSA team families and friends cheered and supported the
teams during the 3 days of competition. The chant MACSA! MACSA!
MACSA! was frequently heard in the Anaheim Convention Center

Coaches, parents, friends and supporters donated many hundreds of
hours to help make the club successful at this tournament. These
supporters were honored on July 24th at a club celebration and dinner
at the MACSA Center in San Jose.

The MACSA Futsal program is continuing in 2006/2007 and looking
forward to future tournaments and the National Championships in 2007.
