RE: [futsalonline_newsgroup] FIFA demands Futsal Trademark
Mr. Para was approached at the US Soccer AGM held last weekend about this. They hoped that such a letter wouldn't be necessary and that he would voluntarily agree to do so. Alex's reaction to the request wasn't one of cooperation so, I think that FIFA now understands that they will have to send the letter. IThe letter should be forthcoming unless, Alex can provide a strong reason as to why they shouldn't.
Does anyone really think that Alex has a strong reason to own the sport of futsal?

FIFA is reportedly sending a demand letter to the United States Futsal Federation to transfer the Trademark rights to the word "Futsal" to the United States Soccer Association, FIFA's United States Soccer authority.
Alex Para, President of the United States Futsal Federation believes that the right to the word "futsal" was granted to him in the 1980's at the time his former organization FIFUSA agreed to join FIFA.
