The fact that USFF trademarked the name makes sense in light of the fact that someone else may in fact trademark the name. However, the trademark has not been enforced anywhere else nor have they attempted to do so. The mark cannot be defended, so why worry about it. Ethically, it raises a great deal of questions that could only be addressed by a democratically inclusive governance structure.
