Is this so? If it is, I believe there is still an optimistic outlook for Futsal and that there are other opportunities abound, especially among the countries that participated in the AFC Championship (Japan, Korea, China, Iran, Taiwan...). I honor the KL World 5's as "the" premiere invitational tournament in the Futsal World, in a truly showcase format, available to all Asia. The KL World 5's (Tiger 5's/Malaysia 5's) broadcast on Espnstar, was one of the main reasons why my Country, and myself took an interest to Futsal!

 

I am optimistic that if this does or does not push through, there is room for smaller tournaments in larger quantities, but with greater effect because the cumulative effort tying them up together with a greater objective that can actually amount to more, creating a more sustained program with a clear long-term vision.

 

Whether it be Sport-tourism Asia, grass-roots development through the trickle down of technical resources, an East Asian Super League, there are bundles if the resources are found and bound together. The first resource I think we must always find in dark times are Spirit/Will and Knowledge/Intellect (Finances will always follow as Lee Iacocca of Chrysler, now GM said, a great business always starts with a good product to offer!), Futsal can make us do it as Football has...  

 

These are just my personal views, sharing the optimisim I have for the sport, what it gives, and honoring the effort that was started by ESPNStar and other countries/individuals that believed... This can only happen if the neighbors work together in harmony and confidence among one another, we must share the burden if we are to share the benefits...
