Apreciado amigas y amigos, compañeros de la familia del Futsal

Hoy debería ser un día en el que cierta tristeza aflorara en mí. Hoy
es mi último dia en FIFA después de casi cinco años de trabajo
ininterrumpido. Pero no será un día triste.

Hoy es un día en el que tengo la satisfacción de marcharme con la
misma alegría con la que llegué un 14 de julio de 1999. Y lo hago con la
profunda satisfacción y orgullo de haber realizado un trabajo con vosotros
que ha sido beneficioso para nuestro deporte, para la FIFA, para mí personal
y profesionalmente y, sobretodo, para una enorme catidad de personas que
esperan de cada uno de nosotros una más que merecida atención y
consideración: los millones de personas anónimas que hacen del fútbol y del
futsal su ilusión diaria y parte de su vida.

Y no quiero marcharme de FIFA sin expresaros de todo corazón mi
respeto y agradecimiento por todos y cada uno de vosotros. Es un placer
trabajar y aprender de vosotros y también lo es el conoceros personalmente.
Este es un patrimonio muy valioso que guardo y cuido con todo mi cariño. Si
a alguno de vosotros he podido ofender, desde ya mis más sinceras disculpas.


Es hora, pues, retomar mi devoción por este deporte y de canalizar
la misma de una manera diferente e, idealmente, de particiapr en mantener
los principios de respecto por el Futsal y por el deporte que todos
compartimos. No os digo adios, os digo hasta luego.

Dear friends and Futsal colleagues

Today should be a day where some sadness could transpire through my
skin. Today is the last day after almost five years of endless dedication.
However, it is not a sad day.

Today I can feel the satisfaction of leaving while carrying the same
smile that brought me here on July 14, 1999. I leave with the deep
satisfaction and pride of having done a job along with you all that has
brought another positive edge to our spotr, to FIFA, that has contributed to
my personal and professional enhancement and, overall, to respond to a huge
number of anonymous people for us who make out of football and futsal a
special time in their lives.

I would not like to leave without heartily expressing my respect and
gratitude to all and every one of you. It is a pleasure to work with you and
learn from you. Moreover, getting to know you is very highly appreciated.
This is an asset in my life that I constantly cherish and look after. If I
may have ever offended you in any way, I definitely offer my sincerest
apologies.

It is now time to go on with Futsal and to do it from a different
angle from where I can channel what this sport means to all of us and make
sure that we contunue building Futsal on the safe and sound principles we
have already started to set. It is not time to say goodbye, but just to
say so long.
