Brevard County Manatees Press Release

OK, Manatees fans, things have been flying since Hurricanes Ivan and Jeanne
ran baseball into hibernation to end the regular and post-season respectively.

In case you just came out of hiding and took down your hurricane shutters,
here’s what you’ve missed:

The Daytona Cubs and Tampa Yankees were awarded co-championships after
Hurricane Ivan pitched a shutout to end the season.

President George Bush visited Space Coast Stadium a few weeks back and if you
weren’t here you missed an opportunity of a lifetime to feel like a sardine
as the Secret Service ‘processed’ over 18,500 fans into The Farm one
beautiful
Saturday afternoon. The stadium seats roughly 8,000 so you can imagine the
logistical nightmare of this.

And, as most of you know, the Montreal Expos are on the verge of relocating
to Washington DC. The team will still conduct Spring Training here at Space
Coast Stadium. The Manatees will still play ball here in the summer months. And
we
’ll be right lining up more promotions for you. Same as last year, only
biggerbetterfasterstronger.

Our staff earned top promotional honors in the Florida State League and is up
for the top promotional staff in all of Minor League Baseball. That’s where
the fun begins for us, making it bigger, better, faster, stronger for next
year. And I think some of you will really be excited over some of the ideas
being
suggested for the 2005 season!

Yes, Russ, Belly Buster VII is on the schedule, so you can defend your title.
We’ll have something more ‘delectable’ this year than last season’s
chocolate-covered jalapenos.

We should have a finalized Brevard County Manatees schedule any day now,
complete with game times and locations. As soon as it’s ready to go we’ll
send
out an email newsletter to you and get it up on our website so you can print it.

Spring Training Season Tickets and Brevard County Manatees Season tickets are
now on sale…stop by our box office or call Jeff Weinhold at (321) 633-9200 to
make your reservations.

Coca-Cola is back for five giveaway nights again this season! Minute Maid
Frozen Lemonade is back for another Frozen Lemonade Giveaway Night. Fireworks
are
tentatively scheduled for five Manatees games. There’s more, lot’s more, and
as the deals get finalized we’ll get you the information.

We’re asking all fans to pass our web site and newsletter information along
to family and friends that might be interested. We’re not asking you to SPAM
your address book, but if you have friends and neighbors that are looking for a
fun night out, send them our web site and newsletter information.

The nationally renowned Christian Band ‘Mercy Me’ will be in-concert at
Space Coast Stadium on November 20th. This concert benefits The Haven. For
tickets, stop by The Haven located at Merritt Square Mall.

Brevard County Manatees Manager Tim ‘Rock’ Raines has signed on with the
Chicago White Sox! Rock will be sorely missed here at The Farm, not only by the
fans, but by the staff as well. Rock was one of those guys who would sign
autographs until his fingers bled. He understood the magic of the game of
baseball,
from playing it to coaching it, to sitting in the stands and being a part of
something special. It goes without saying that the staff and fans of the
Manatees wish Rock and his wife, Virginia, all the best of luck in the future
and
that they’ll always have a good seat and a cold drink waiting for them anytime
they can get back to The Farm!

We have a new survey question up on our web site…OK, it’s a slow news day
and a bit of humor was in the calling. Make sure you stop by and answer this
week
’s trivia question. Congratulations to the 57% of you that correctly selected
the Red Sox to win it all during last weeks’ poll.

If your organization is looking for a guest speaker at your next meeting,
give us a call at (321) 633-9200 x2079. You don’t have to wait until baseball
season as our staff is here year round! We can talk baseball and pepper it with
humor, big groups of small, just call does it all…(321) 633-9200 x2079.

Have a good week, everybody.

Rock On!
