Brevard County Manatees Press Release
VIERA, FL -- The Milwaukee Brewers have signed a two-year Player Development
Contract with the Brevard County Manatees of the Florida State League, it was
announced Friday by Executive Vice President and General Manager, Doug Melvin.
The new affiliation, which runs through 2006, moves the Brewers from High
Desert of the California League, where the club had been since 2001, to the

"This new affiliation with Brevard County gives us a geographic alignment

East of the Mississippi," said Melvin. "The facilities and support in Brevard
County will also be a great asset to our players and development staff."
