Brevard County Manatees Press Release
VIERA, FL -- Former and current Manatees abound in this year's addition of
the Arizona Fall League (AFL).
Current Manatees pitchers Jason Bergmann and Bill Bray along with former
Manatees Shawn Norris and Josh Labandeira make up four of the six Expos that
will
participate in the league this fall. The members of the Expos organization
that play in the AFL will play for the Peoria Javelinas under manager Mike Goff
of the Seattle Mariners.
The other two Expos are outfielder Jerry Owens, who played for Savannah (Low
A) and pitcher Seung Song, who played mostly in Edmonton with trips to
Montreal and also to Brevard on rehab.
In 2003 four former Manatees players also contributed during AFL play.
Pitcher Benji Dequin and infielders Josh McKinley, Larry Broadway as well as
Labandeira all competed for the Javelinas as they struggled to a 9-26 record.
