February 16, 2004 -

Yes, you did read correctly, The Daytona Cubs and
Pinello Funeral Home have teamed up for a promotion
that is sure to catch the eyes of the Daytona Beach
community. One lucky fan will have the opportunity to
win a free funeral courtesy of Pinello Funeral Home
and the Daytona Cubs. In a season long promotion, fans
of the Daytona Cubs will compete in a contest, which
is sure to be exciting in its self, to decide which
one lucky fan will receive their FUTURE funeral free
of charge.

Joseph Pinello, owner of Pinello Funeral Home, has
agreed to award funeral proceedings, free of charge,
to one lucky fan of the Daytona Cubs. The winner will
be announced during one of the final home games of the
Cubs 2004 season. The contest rules and actual date of
the give-away will be announced within the coming
weeks.

A similar Funeral Give-Away Promotion was put on by
the Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League last
season and was voted the #1 promotion in minor league
baseball by ESPN. The Cubs hope to make their
promotion this season just as popular and successful
for both Pinello Funeral Home and the Daytona Cubs.

This will be a tastefully done promotion with the
planning of your future funeral or a funeral for a
loved one done with the utmost respect. Planning in
advance is always important and this planning will be
done with sensitivity to everyone participating.

The Daytona Cubs are pleased to announce that the
Florida Restaurant Group, LLC, which owns all of the
Daytona Beach Area Wendy's Restaurants, has agreed to
partner with the Cubs for the 2004 Home Opener on
Thursday, April 8th. Wendy's is proud to sponsor the
post-game Fireworks Extravaganza and is planning on
passing out some free coupons to all fans as they exit
the ballpark.

If that isn't enough, Wendy's will also be sponsoring
a between innings contest at each of the Cubs 70 home
games this season.

Wait, Wendy's is not done yet. After five different
games this season, Wendy's will be catering the
post-game meal of your Daytona Cubs. The guys have to
be fed and Wendy's is happy to do so. Wendy's will
also be donating various meals to all of the Daytona
Cubs Baseball Camp and Clinic kids in June and July.

"The Florida Restaurant Group has been great to work
with ever since our ownership took over in 2001," said
Cubs Assistant General Manager Bill Papierniak. "It
seems like we have had, just as they have had new
people in place each year, but we are still always
able to come up with a great partnership each year.
Fireworks sponsorships are always a sure bet to reach
a maximum amount of fans and with a new firework
company in place for 2004, we are sure that both fans
and Wendy's will be impressed with the show."

The next time you are around town and feel a little
hungry, please stop in to any of the many area Wendy's
locations and tell them the Daytona Cubs sent you.

They are new to the area and extremely excited about
partnering with the Daytona Cubs. The Sports Authority
located on International Speedway Boulevard has agreed
to sponsor the Daytona Cubs Youth Baseball Camp that
will take place at the ballpark on June 15, 16 & 17th.
The Sports Authority Youth Baseball Camp will have
instruction by Daytona Cubs players and coaches. All
kids from the ages of 7 to 12 are eligible to
participate. Not only will kids learn the fundamentals
of baseball, but will also get some lessons on life
and on life in Minor League Baseball. Players and
coaches plan on speaking to all participants following
each of the camp days. All participants will also be
provided a post-work-out meal following each morning
on the field.

The attached file is a Sports Authority Youth Baseball
Camp application. Simply fill the form out and return
it to the Daytona Cubs at 105 East Orange Avenue,
Daytona Beach, FL 32114 and your child or yourself
will be ready to play.

Every year we run into this problem and again, the
Daytona Cubs assure you that next season, we will be
ahead of the game, but then again, we said that last
year. What am I referring to you ask? - Tickets! Our
ticket stock is still at the printers, which puts a
hurting on us when we are trying to sell tickets. For
those fans that do wish to purchase some individual
tickets now, there is a way to make this happen.

We haven't announced a date for our tickets to go on
sale and who knows when that will happen, but tickets
can be purchased now through the Cubs website at
www.daytonacubs.com. Simply go to tickets and click on
the link that says 'On-Line Ticket Orders.' We are
currently taking orders and charging credit cards for
fans that want to get their Opening Night tickets
early or any tickets to any game early. Once our
ticket stock comes in, the Cubs will contact each
person individually to see if you would like your
tickets mailed to you or placed in will-call. If you a
fan that usually picks your tickets up in will-call
anyway, feel free to make your order now. The Cubs
will take care of the rest and will have an actual
'tickets on sale' date coming soon.

WOW! What a job have our fan club members KC & Elin
Matthews did for our incoming 2004 players and
coaches. A major need at Jackie Robinson Ballpark over
the years have been lock-boxes for our players
personal belongings. In past years, players and
coaches would actually leave any valuables they owned
in their cars or at home before heading to the park.
This is not a worry any more, thanks to the Daytona
Cubs Fan Club. KC & Elin put in 100 hours of their own
time to provide a great security feature for all of
our players. There is a file attached that shows all
of their hard work on the lock boxes. We will worry
about the other paint at another date.
