About the race(s):
The General Smallwood Triathlon is located at scenic Smallwood State Park in Charles County, MD along Mattawoman Bay. After swimming in the bay, athletes will race along rolling, lightly traveled roads.  Transitioning to the run, athletes will run out and back through the park on a mix of paved and dirt trails with aid stations every mile then cross the finish line over a wooden bridge.

A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to the Smallwood State Park Volunteers, Inc, a non-profit volunteer organization, which works in partnership with the Maryland Park Service to help maintain and operate Smallwood State Park for the public's enjoyment.
