Re: [fredrugby] 7's jersey design

In sevens, 1-3 are forwards, 4-7 are backs, and I'm doing 8-10 for back ups on
the team set. There are some differences in the skills needed for the forwards
in 7's, but we can go over that in practice.

If no one has any objections, I think it would be good for us to modify the way
we currently run 7's practices in the following ways:
After a brief warm-up, we should do a few (10-20) minutes of drills to work on
some skills that will help when we go to tournaments. Running back line plays,
general hands drills, and tackling drills, as well as a little rucking and
mauling would all be good thing to go over. (Obviously not all on the same
day.)
After that, touch 7's, with the last 15 minutes or game to 3 or 5 played as
tackle 7's.

Playing tackle 7's at the end will get all of us used to tackling and the
mentality and strategies that go with it, and let's face it, it's just downright
FUN!

We can discuss all of that a little further on Tuesday.

Are 7's numbers different than 15's in regards to the pack people. I would
want 2 for hooker if this isn't the case. If someone would tell me
otherwise that would be nice.

I concur. Though it's hot as balls and contact may not be as much fun, we need to do it. It may also help return people to pratice. Regardless of that,...
