August 9

Drove across the new Cowan Boulevard extension today.  All I can say is smooth sailing.

This will be the only update of the week as I head to Tejas to visit my Pop and watch the Nats in the cool confines of Minute Maid Park.  Then we will head out to Fredericksburg (Dad is a real original thinker sometimes) for two days.

Recruitment Meeting

We are having one this Thursday at the Colonial Tavern, soooo that means NO SEVENS on Thursday.  Instead go to the Colonial Tavern at 7:00 pm and have a few beers and tell a few lies.  For example, tell your co-worker that you are going to a Texas Hold 'em tournament or something like that and have them meet you there or better yet pick them up and take 'em with you.  Then when you get there, say "D'oh tonight is the Rugby thing, oh well come in and have a few and meet the guys."  Want to do something more, you know you do, go to:
http://www.fredrugby.com/todolist.html and print off a few fliers and post them about town.

Yard Sale

From Joey "Bus" Pendergrass

"The Team Yard Sale was a resounding success. The team made $315, and although some of us were hungover, enough guys showed up to ensure that everything ran smoothly. My sincerest thanks to Thomas Lee, Stan Fissel, Matt Shaw, Jeff Frankston, Tony DiMaio, Pete Murray, Ginny Bach, and of course, to myself for helping out. I don't think I forgot anyone, but it was a long day out there. Thanks for contributing."

Sevens

The last sevens session of the summer is tonight.  Start time is around 6:30 pm and the location is Kenmore Park, 1300 Kenmore Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA.  From Rt 3 turn left/right onto William Street, follow about 1 mile and turn left on Kenmore Ave, the park is up on your right.  Remember that Thursday is the recruiting meeting at Colonial Tavern.  Thanks to all that came out over the summer.
