Hi All,
I got some email bounces from evite from a lot of people with @optonline.net
accounts. Not sure what the glitch was. In any case, I don't see anyone
playing tomorrow, so if you are interested, make sure you have a partner.
Anil
Hey All,
Looks like it's going to be a perfect night for tennis. We have 4 yeses and 4
maybes, so we'll be having fun, hope the rest of you have better plans (except
those that are hurt) for not making it. ;)
I just wanted to make sure everyone heard that I have 1 ticket available to the
US Open because of a cancellation. If you or someone you know would like to
join us, let me know. Details are:
US Open Evening Session (Arthur Ashe Stadium)
Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing, NY
Thu, Sep 3, 2009 07:00 PM
Seat location: section 327, row Q, seats 1-4
I'll probably be driving in, so I could offer a ride if we can meet somewhere on
the way.
Anil
Hey All,
Looks like we are going to have great weather and a large turn out tonight!
This email is not to discourage people from coming and I'm sure we will have
more than has responded to the evite, but I wanted to make some notes.
1. There are additional courts at the other end of the park. They don't have
lights, but we can play there until dark, and then go to the lighted courts.
2. This isn't really a MCSC event, so please don't tell people you are with the
MCSC. These are town courts and we don't need people complaining of non-town
players taking all the courts. Hopefully we won't be asked if we behave
ourselves.
3. Please be considerate of the other players playing. With a large group, we
may have a lot of talking and walking around, try not to disturb people not with
us. Go ahead and bother the people with us. ;)
4. I don't think we should take all the court if other groups are waiting to
play. Please be patient and rotate people onto the courts we have.
5. Bring tennis balls, drinks and bug spray!
Judy, we take care of beginners, you should have fun.
Can't wait to see everyone, maybe get a group picture to put on the website!
Anil
Hi all,
Helen asked me to let everyone know that tennis for tonight has been cancelled.
I am sending this on her behalf as she has no internet access at the moment.
Mary
Hi all,
We only have 3 yes for tonight, the weather doesn't look good, and 1 maybe on
going out if it rains. So unless I get some email and the rain clears out,
tennis is canceled again this week.
Looks like more people will be available starting next week, so hopefully we can
get the season started in full swing then. I think all that attended the
kickoff dinner had a good time.
See ya all at the Tap room for the MCSC AAF tomorrow!
Anil
Based on the forecast --- Tom and I plan at the courts around 7 –
if anyone is interested.

Hey All,
Just letting you all know some of us are meeting at Chevy's in Morris Plain at
the corner of Rt 10 and 202 on Tuesday to celebrate. I hope to be there around
5:30 if I can get out of work.
Anil
So what do say when you start a tennis match?
Hey All,
I won't have access to email later, so sending this out now. The weather is
cloudy but no rain yet, and hoping it will hold off until after we play. We
should have a good turn out with 7 people having responded to the evite. Let me
know if you are having trouble with the evite, I haven't done many, and it looks
like the reoccurring events may have a problem (or I need to delete and do it
again).
Doesn't look like there will be enough people before 7:00 for an early start
time, so meet at 7:00 pm at the courts. If by chance it starts to raining at
7:00, we will get a drink/eat some place close. I'll wait at the courts until
7:15, call me if your looking for us after that.
Anil
Sorry for the late notice, but Tony and I are going to be play at Lurker Park in
East Hanover tonight at 7:00 pm Join us if you can!
Also, Indian dinner on May 5th is a bad idea, it is Cinco de Mayo. So I will
leave that day for the Mexicans and try Monday May 11th at Cafe India. Evite to
go out in a couple of days.
Anil
Hey All,
Finally got a date for the lights. It won't be until the last week of the month
so tennis will start on April 30th in Florham Park. That said, if people want
to meet in East Hanover at Lurker Park, that is always a possibility. Thursday
should be a nice evening, let me know if anyone is interested.
On another topic, had mixed results on the Indian Dinner location and time. So
this is what the latest plan is. The new day is May 5th at the Banquet hall
next to Chand Place in Parsippany. Please reserve this date if you are
interested, details to follow. If your still interested in South Indian food at
Moksha's, never fear, an friend is having people meet on April 26th. Let me
know if you want to be added to that evite. I am planning on attending.
Hope everyone's ready for another exciting season of tennis, see you on the
courts if not earlier!
Anil
Hey All,
Still don't have a definite on when the lights will be on and the league play
days (days we should avoid). The results look like people favor Thursdays again
this year. We have 3 people that can make it before 7:00, so you'll have to do
some recruiting for an earlier start time then 7:00. ;)
Just wanted to let anyone looking for a new tennis racket, Costco again has one
available. It is a Wilson nCode n5 in Red compared to the n4 (Blue last 2
years) and the n6 that I have. It's $50. Let me know grip size if you would
like me to pick one up for you. Here is a link to a review of it:
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Reviews/WN5/WN5Review.html
Finally, it is time for the Annual Beginning of Tennis Season Indian Dinner.
This will be open to everyone, just settling on the venue with this group.
Someone has suggested making this a lunch (or Brunch) on Sunday in Edison.
There is an place called Moskha that I was thinking about having it at. Watch
out for the volume at this link:
http://www.moksharestaurants.com/
Let me know if you are interested on doing this on Sunday, May 17th, ~12:30 ish
or would rather do a dinner in the Morristown/East Hanover/Parsippany area. If
local, what nights are good (or bad) late April and early May.
Oh, and really finally, last couple of 60 degree sunny days have been great for
tennis, I was out last Sunday. Let me, or post to this group, if you would like
to play sometime you have free time and the weather is nice.
Anil
Hi All,
Another season of outdoor tennis is almost upon us. A few people have asked
when it will start. I still haven't got a definite date on when the lights will
be on, but it should be in about a month. If your interested in playing this
year, let me know what time and day of the week is best for you.
I should have sent this notice out a couple weeks ago, but the sign ups for the
1st outdoor tennis lesson session was a couple of weeks ago. But I'm sure if
you get a group together, you will still be able to take them. The lesson's
planned start date is early/mid April. I have a form at home if you need more
details.

For those that made it to tennis yesterday to find the lights didn't turn on, sorry, I they had a circuit breaker issue that should be fixed by next week.
About next week, there is a Ski Club Happy Hour, so tennis will be canceled for that week.
The lights will be on in FP until end of Oct, so will continue tennis for the last 2 Thursdays in October. After that, if the weather is nice, we can try last minute games at other lighted courts in the area.
Finally, I use to have semi-annual Indian Dinner to start and end the season. Clearly, we haven't had them in a while. I'm going to try to have one, looking at Oct 21st at Palki's in East Hanover. If your interested in join us, let me know how this date looks, and/or your schedule 2-3 weeks out. This will be open to anyone that wants to come, and include a larger list of people, but if you know someone that would be interested, send me there email address to add to the list when the details are settled. More details to follow.
