[fleetfeetrunnersclub] FW: Marquette Trail Run Registration Opening
It is time to:
Mark your calendars,
Set up the ???alerts??? on your computer and PDA, and
Make sure your alarm clock is working!!
Once again this year the registration for the famous ???Pere Marquette
Endurance Trail Run??? will ONLY be available on-line at
http://www.active.
lor1=EEEEEE&
and is limited to 600 runners. Each year the race fills faster (three weeks
in 2005 and 8 days in 2006), so make sure you get in as early as possible to
avoid being like those from last year who tried too late and found it was
full!
Registration for the 19th annual running of the PMETR officially opens at
midnight this Saturday, 1 September. To clarify, if you stay up on Friday,
31 August until about 30 minutes after Jay Leno ends you will be able to
register. You are encouraged to enter early to ensure you have yet another
opportunity to push your bodies to the agonizing extreme ??? far beyond the
normal tortures of a race!
We are looking forward to seeing your smiling faces again this year (smiling
is totally optional while you are on the course). Remember to practice your
avoidance of those behaviors that could be interpreted as being
???Wimpish??
banned from the race! Be ready for any kind of weather because we have had
it all in the past 18 years ??? warm, muddy, freezing, icy and even blizzard
conditions.
P.S. If you have done the race in the past 3 years, have your OVERALL place
ready of the most recent year completed.
