As a kid growing somehow, even thou we're all getting older, you think your
parents are somehow immortal, and so when the end comes it is a shock, no matter
the circumstances. Your mom is somebody that will do anything for you, even
die for you. She was always in my corner. So this is a difficult time, but I
wanted to express my sincere gratitude for all your well wishes, thoughts,
prayers, emails and calls, and of course your friendship. My Mom was a true
woman of the 1950's, but she truly believed in equality for all. She was not
scared of change in her life. She was really very tough. She went thru a
divorce in her 50's, and found work as a school teacher teaching remedial
reading to 7th and 8th graders in an inner city school in Fort Worth, where she
retired at the age of 70. One of her favorite quotes:Â "The bend in the road
is not the end of the road, unless you refuse to make the turn"....Eleanor
Roosevelt.
I'm going to miss my Mom.
