RE: [fleetfeetrunnersclub] Runner's Clinic - September 6th @ 6:00 PM

I just want to remind everyone about the Runner’s Clinic this Saturday at 6:00 PM.  The response has been excellent with just over 20 RSVP’s.  It’s not too late to send in your RSVP if you want to attend.  Just send an email to me at c-heupel@... and let me know you are coming.  I want to make sure we have enough supplies for everyone.  I hope to see you there!

FLEET FEET Runner’s Club

Invites you to participate in the Inaugural

Runner’s Clinic

On September 6, 2008 at 6:00 PM

The clinic will be held at the Saint Charles Police Department meeting room at 1781 Zumbehl, Saint Charles, MO 63303.  The clinic will feature the following speakers:

Dr. David Hadden, Fink Chiropractic (636-625-9012) O’Fallon, MO

Dr. Hadden has been a runner for approximately 10 years and has completed one marathon (Chicago 2004).  Dr. Hadden will be speaking about causes and prevention of common running injuries such as Plantar Fasciitis, IT Band syndrome and Piriformis syndrome.

Ryan Ludwig & Betsy Godar, The Hit Center (636-441-6448, www.hitcenters.com) St. Peters, MO

The HIT Center specializes in scientific-based testing and training designed to help you finish stronger and faster. Executive Director, Ryan Ludwig and Program Director, Betsy Godar, will be discussing VO2 Max testing and its training benefits derived from the analysis of assessment results. The explanation and application of high intensity training and Bod Pod ™ body composition analysis will also be explored.

Yvonne Deyo, Saint Louis Orienteering Club (http://sloc.us.orienteering.org) University City, MO

Orienteering is the sport of navigating through unfamiliar terrain using a topographic map and a compass.  An avid road and trail runner, Yvonne Deyo discovered orienteering in 1995 as a way to add a hefty dose of mental challenge and interest to training sessions.  Since then, she has competed in many orienteering races throughout the country and is a past president of the St. Louis Orienteering Club.  Yvonne will be describing the basics on the sport of orienteering and will present a fun, hands-on activity for you to try out your new skills!

Snacks and refreshments will be provided during the clinic.  Space is limited so please RSVP as soon as possible to c-heupel@sbcglobal.net or by calling 314-540-7283.
