I apologize to everyone for the confusion, but Vicki and I need
to make two date changes regarding the FLAT FIVE email she sent out last night:
(1) Race
day is Sunday, August 3rd – not Saturday. An entry form
can be downloaded here.
Please email Vicki if you would
like to work as a race day volunteer on Sunday morning.

The Tailgate Party is being moved to Wednesday, July 30th.
If you would like to run/walk the Flat Five course, please meet that the
bandstand in Frontier Park at 6pm. The running/walking will be followed at
about 7pm by the eating/drinking. Race volunteers will receive their duties
at that time, as well. The club will provide water, soda and hot
dogs. Please bring a dish to share, a chair or blanket and some bug
spray. J
The change of date for the
Tailgate Party was made because many club members are planning to attend the July
31st–only showing of Ultramarathon Man, the documentary about Dean
Karanzes’ quest to complete 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days.
(Frankly, I want to attend, too, since Lewis & Clark should get a mention, being
as it was where Dean’s journey started.) Complete details about where
and when you can see the movie are in the current edition of the FLEET FEET Flyer.

It's that time of year again! We're
ready to start assembling our group of volunteers for the annual Fleet Feet
Runners' Club fundraiser - The Flat Five.
Please email me if you are able to assist with this year's race on Saturday,
August 3rd. Most of you have participated as volunteers in the past, so
if there is a specific job that you particularly enjoyed, please indicate that
job. For those members who have recently joined the club, volunteering at
this annual fundraiser is a great way to get to know fellow club members.
Everyone always has a great time! Please join us!
I will forward your race assignments to you prior to the Flat Five Tailgate
Party held on Thursday evening preceeding the race. Remember...the club
runs the 5 mile course at 6PM and has a picnic at 7PM. Don't
miss it!
Remember....many hands make light the work - thanks to everyone for their
continued support!
