Re: [fleetfeetlouisville] New to Group

hey megan -

you are going to love running!  i have been running since high school, and it is truly in my blood.  in fact, i am even designing some running shorts for women (would love to get your feedback - see survey link below).

there are a several great races in the louisville area and starting with a 5k then 10ks and then mini marathons (if you want) is the best way to go.  i run very early during the week (5 am - i have two preschoolers and have to be to work by 8:00) and at 6:30 on saturdays and sundays.  see, it is my passion.  but perhaps we could connect at some point?

take care and keep running!!!  i am proud of you:)

Michele

Subject: [fleetfeetlouisville] New to Group

Hello, everyone!

I just want to introduce myself. I'm Megan and I am very new to running. I've started consistently running a few weeks ago. I never have been a runner until I started working out 3-4 days a week. I joined a gym and started doing some aerobics/cardio classes.

Before I started running on a daily basis, I struggled through one mile! My average time was about 20mins! I swore I would never be a runner and I settled with that. One day out of nowhere I decided to go for a run on the treadmill at the gym. I guess for a change of scenery from all of the classes I had been doing. I was totally shocked when I discovered that I had ran one mile and I had not stopped...in fact, I just kept going. Ever since that day, I have been running more and more. I'm up to four miles just for a simple daily workout.

I believe that all of the cardio classes helped with my running endurance. I have officially fallen in love with running and all things about it. When I think about running I get an adrenaline rush and I can't stop myself. Once I hit the pavement, there is no turning back.

I would very much like to meet other runners in the Louisville area. I have never ran in a race or marathon, but eventually I would like to. I was thinking about starting with 5Ks and then going up from there. Anyway, that is my story! I hope I hear from some of you soon.

Megan
