Marathon training (Long Runs)   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #600 of 733 |
Hello,

I'm new to this list, and was wondering which day(s) there is/are long
runs that might correspond to a Hal Higdon-ish (or the like) training
schedule for the 4/25 race(s). I'm actually running Nashville's full
marathon, but it's the same day as ours here, so the training is the
same. This week/weekend (around 2/28 or 3/1) has me scheduled for 17
miles. Is there a group or groups training for the full marathon here
that is at a similar mileage this week? If so, what day/time does the
group meet for the long runs? If not, is there a place to get a good
(safe) route for the crazy long distances? I live out east a bit, and
can get about 11 or 12 miles before I have to start getting really
creative on some busier roads or just repeating loops, neither of which
I like to do too much. I'd rather drive into the parks or out
somewhere where there is a safe, established 17, 18, or 20 mile route.

Thanks. I look forward to meeting some new folks and running with you.

Doug
