Hey group, haven't ran with you in a year, but I still keep planning too!. Not up to the marathon level, but definetly plan on running some shorter races this year.
St. Patty's 5K
Bolder Boulder (will be 7 in a row!)
Maybe 10mile G.o.G.
Woodland Park 10K.
If i can get in better shape and get my heart rate a bit lower, maybe I'll shoot for the Rampart Reservoir Pony express run next fall.
I have to keep my heart rate below 170 or so, which slows me down now to about 9 minute miles. But I'm still running!

Hey, we need to get this FIT group going again! And this is a great time to do it! I bet we all are thinking about what we want to accomplish in this new year. Maybe we can get some weekend runs going again that would help us reach our goals?
I know about 5 of us are doing the Canyonlands Half Marathon on March 21. Unfortunately, you have to go through a lottery process to have a chance to register for that race and it is all over. What other races are people looking at training for around that Spring timeframe (or later)?
I hope everyone has fond memories of fitness from last year. I'm sure there are also regrets, but there must be some accomplishments in there too. I haven't told you all that I finshed the biggest goal I have for my running - I qualified for Boston at the Tucson Marathon a few weeks ago! I must say that there was a time when I didn't think I would ever even RUN an event longer
than a 10k and I thought a marathon would be especially impossible for me to do. Because of training with the FIT group, marathons became feasible to do, but the thought of trying to qualify for Boston was totally impossible. Then I gradually started to realize that by training properly, I just might be able to qualify - and it worked! Very exciting!
