You are absolutely right, Jeff. Let's kick this year off. A year ago, you put
the message out there
and we had a great time. I had a great year of running, completing 18 running
events including
my first two marathons and logging over 800 miles in training and races/events.
This year my goal is simply to train better. My ultimate goal is to qualify for
Boston so I can run
with you next year! But if not, I know I will have done my best.
Tentatively, my running events are as follows:
Jan - Feb: PPRR and Denver Winter Series
Mar: St Patrick's Day 5K
Apr: Elbert Reflections 10K and UCCS Bash the Bluffs 10K
May: Take 5 in the Garden, Bolder Boulder, Greenland 25K and Colfax marathon
Jun: Mt Evans Ascent 14M and GotG 10M
Jul: Summer Round Up 12K, Classic 10K and Barr Trail 12M
Aug: Pikes Peak Ascent and hopefully get a spot on the JQ's Wild West Relay team
Sep: ADT Half or Full Marathon and Pony Express 15M
Oct: Fall Series and Chicago Marathon
Again, all of this is tentative. This coming weekend will be the start of the
PPRR Winter Series. I
am signed up as well as for the Denver Winter Series. I hope to see some of you
at these events.
Unfortunately I will miss the third PPRR Winter Series due to work related
travel.
To accomplish some or all of these runs, I will be need to be running on the
weekend (long
runs). This is where we all need to come together to help push, pull and drag
each other. With
that in mind, earlier today, Karen mentioned to me about running this coming
Sunday (11 Jan
09). Place not determined but could be our usual running area starting at Cache
la Poudre. It
could be somewhere else if someone has any ideas. We haven't ran Garden of the
Gods in a
while :-)
I couldn't have achieved what I have (running) without the friendship and
companionship of this
group. I hope it continues on.
See you on the trails and Happy New Year to you all.
