Jeff,
I've read all the other e-mails to you . As a Dr. I have 5 words of advice, "Suck it up and run." Well, not really. Let it heal and you'll be back sooner than you think.

Subject: [fitHQ] Injury
I have felt increasingly bad for not sharing with you all that I have an
injury, which has kept me from running with the group.
I haven't been able to train for 26 days and all last week I was only
able to walk with crutches. I have seen my Chiropracter and a sports
doctor (ART specialist) 4 times each, and my general practitioner once
to order an MRI, which I got last Friday. The MRI results are back and
it rules out all the possibilities of major problems, which greatly
encouraged my sports doctor.
The bottom line is I still have quite a bit of pain that centers around
the area where the tendons attach the major muscle groups of the upper
left leg to my lower leg just below my knee. It's painful enough that I
have to walk with a profound limp and I get fatigued very quickly.
I go back and forth on whether or not I will be able to run the Chicago
Marathon even very slowly just to finnish. Right now it isn't looking
possible. I have decided that I will go ahead and make the trip
regardless so I can cheer the rest of our group on, be a support to them
and maybe volunteer for the race or for the Alzheimer's Association
which I have been raising funds for.
If I can't "Finish It" this time, I promise I will finish my first
marathon when I am able to!
