I'll get the complaint out of the way first. It seems spammers
have been making a major assault on yahoo clubs recently, not just
this one. These con artists have sent their unwanted files promoting
credit cards, pornography and so forth across the board. Apparently
much or most of this originates from the UK, not Canada or the US,
which IMO is somewhat surprising...I'd thought the British nation
above this sort of thing but there's a sleazy element everywhere.
Anyway, since Byrix and not me owns this list I can't delete the
files but I will be making complaints about this spam to (yahoo)
authorities.

Now, the Grizzlies have landed the fourth pick in the draft from
the lottery. Wouldn't it be great if they could draft Jason Williams
and then have him on the team with the Jason Williams that's already
there? As long as they stay away from ex-Net Jayson Williams, who's
in a ton of legal trouble...But the J-Will on the Grizz says he wants
to leave the team if the other J-Will is coming in, he wants to be
the only one on his team! It doesn't look likely in any case that the
Grizz will be able to draft J-Will but hopefully they'll avoid
Chinese player Yao Ming, who reminds me of Shawn Bradley: a lot of
height at 7'5," a bit of press attention but not much talent. Surely
there must be some big names there for the Grizz other than J-Will
and Ming, we shall see.

About Jerry West coming in: yeah I'm not that big a fan of it.
Not on West's end (he's a big name but what else is he gonna do at
this point in his life? Retire?) but on the Grizz end. Sure, West was
a great player back in the day, maybe even a decent coach and general
manager. But it seems much of the Laker success in recent years was
due to owner Jerry Buss, in "no brainer" moves, throwing money at
players who were already big names/stars like Shaquille O'Neal...not
on anything Jerry West did. It might be thought that a "young" team
and organization such as the Grizz would go with young, or at least
young-thinking, executives...Instead Heisley chooses old-timers such
as West and Dick Versace. But I could be wrong, hope I am, this could
work out...Again, we shall see.
