For those of you who don't know me, I am Tim Turnquist of the Twin Cities Spoke of the IC3 and most recently of FCA-E. I could use some prayers right now. Here is what I have going on (Note: I am a nerd and think in bullet points, so most of my correspondence ends up in bullets.)
- I am going to attempt the Whitney Classic and it scares me more that a little. The good news is that just the thought of it excites me even more. I leave Friday, September 28th for Las Vegas (and spend an afternoon at Interbike), then off to the desert to start the ride on Saturday. I need prayers for a good ride and to shine for Jesus, since it is for His glory, not mine that I am doing this crazy, crazy thing.
- My training for this event is not going well. I have tried to get some miles in (click here for an example ), but between the darkness and things heating up at work I have not been on the bike as much as I would have liked. As a last resort I finally got out my old bike and rigged it to my old trainer so at least I can get some mile in in the basement after the kids are in bed.
- Work has been very stressful. I don't need to go into details, but suffice it to say that I made some promises (as a computer consultant) that I have not yet been able to make good on.
- My riding partner for the Whitney, Chip, has thrown his back out and could use some prayers. I don't think he will be able to ride and right now it is doubtful that he will be able to sit on the airplane comfortable enough to make the trip at all.
- Generally I am in a funk because the season is winding down and I am not ready for it to be over. Pray that the Lord opens new doors for me to be excited about as the seasons turn.

God's Peace-
<Tim><
