Over 50 riders enjoyed a wonderful, sunny, 8-mile ride at Riverside State Park
on (mostly) hard packed and (mostly) dry trails (Hey, gotta a have a little snow
and mud in there to make it an official Chili Ride) followed by a fun-filled
afternoon of chili, beverages and excellent company to raise money for the
Park's Foundation.

A big thanks to our event sponsors including Bicycle Butler for hosting the post
ride festivities at the Arnolds' "Garage Mahal" and Round and Round Productions
for setting the trail and putting up markers, preparing the food and providing
loads of equipment to make it all happen. And thanks to Penny Schwin for
handling registration – somebody's got to keep us responsible.

I would like to give special recognition to Dave Nelson, a long-time active Fat
Tire member, who organized and coordinated the event! His endless efforts made
sure all the pieces came together, even clearing trail the week before the ride
(including big trees downed over the winter). And I don't even want to know what
he promised the Mother Nature to get that great of weather served up for the
day! Dave, nice work!!

Thanks to all of you who came out and supported Riverside State Park! I'm
certain the Chili Ride was what we needed to set Spring in motion!!
