Also, it should be made clear that another reason for the celebration
is Nikki's birthday, which is on Thursday....

I may be car-less tomorrow.
Would anyone out there be able to give me a ride home from the
potluck? I live on Farmer's Loop.
You don't have to reply to the whole group to answer. Just email me at

Hi Swimmers! The long postponed and anticipated breakfast potluck
will take place THIS Saturday, November 19, after practice at Dave
Leonard's place. Bring some goodies and follow the group or get
directions at practice to find your way...
See you there!

I just got back in town, so please update me on Monday's practice. Is
the Patty Center pool still closed Monday, and if so are we still
meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Hamme?
By the way, from what I understand Drowning Pool is coming to town next
Sunday (the 13th). If anyone's interested in going, please let me
know.

Hi everyone
I move to hold off on the potluck until we have a practice to precede
it. That way we'll have better practice and potluck turnouts as it
will give people a reason to come to both...Plus, it's just tradition
(for the year that I've been here anyway)
Maybe next weekend would work out for potluck and practice?

Hi Gang,
They have decided to close the pool AGAIN, this time for the whole
day on Saturday, so no practice, YES POTLUCK?!
Send me an email if you have any questions regarding this.
The Men's locker room will be closed, and thus so will the pool on
this coming Monday, November 7th. I'd be up to meet at Hamme pool,
6pm, on Monday, instead.
After practice this Saturday, there will be our (pseudo)monthly
Breakfast potluck at Dave Leonard's house. Bake some goods or bring
some treats and head up Chena ridge to the ping-pong capital of
Fairbanks after practice on Saturday! If you need directions, be sure
to contact Dave or be at practice.
Hi Gang,
We'll swim at Patty Pool this Friday at 5:30pm. A bunch of us
will be going to the UAF Hockey game afterward, which starts at 7pm.
See you there!
-Pieter
Hi Swimmers-
I just received word from Scott that the pool will be closed Sat.
10/29 all day long. This, as you might guess, means no practice
for us that day.
See you tonight- Kate
If you're interested in going to the UAF meet tomorrow at Hamme at 6:00
p.m. please let me know, and I'll save you a seat, look for you in the
stands, etc. The visiting team is probably pretty good. The News-Miner
article about the meet is here:

Hi Gang- The following is the link for the USMS 3000/6000 yard postal
swim that will happen this Saturday morning, 9-11am:

Please bring a timer, some sort of stopwatch, and the printout sheet
with pen to keep track of splits.
If you haven't registered with USMS, please contact Steve ASAP to get
this done before Saturday!
See you there!

Hello all,
Aaron's film about the research done in New Zealand last spring is
showing at the Far North Film Festival, this Saturday September 24th
at 7:33pm. It runs about 20 minutes and is a must see!
You can check the film schedule at:
http://farnorthfilms.com/schedule.html
Immediately after the film, during the break, I along with Aaron and
the other scientists will be available for questions at a booth in the
great hall.
Hope to see you all there.
Nikki
PS. There are other movies as well!
Hey Robbie-
Thursday from 1-3pm would be awesome (Wood Center main hall, the table
with our banner on it...I'm making the banner tomorrow). Thanks so
much for your help.
Cheers,
Pieter

I could do it for an hour or two Wednesday. Please tell me the time,
where to go, etc. I suppose I could be there from about 1:00 - 3:00 on
Thursday (probably don't have time for both Weds. and Thurs.).

Hi everyone,
I posted the best of the photos (this isn't saying much) that I took
last night on the Yahoo groups page.
If you are in a photo that you would prefer not to be displayed, let
me know and I'll remove it immediately.
Aaron
Hi Swimmers,
I have set up a booth at this student organization fair, which is an
ideal
opportunity to get people involved and knowledgable about our team. The
info is
below, but the essential components are as follows:
1) I can be there on Thursday from 11-12:30pm
2) We need people to cover any time slots (whatever you can manage is
fine), on
Wednesday from 11-3 and Thursday from 12:30-3pm.
3) Please let me know if/when you can help with this.
4) We'll have flyers ready, and I'll bake some goodies to hand out on
Thursday
(if we cover Wednesday, maybe someone could bake cookies or something for
that??)
5) The key thing is to just be there, answer questions about the team, and
give
them a flyer/info.
Thanks,
Pieter
Student Organizations Fair
Host a booth at our student organizations fair on Wednesday, September 14
and Thursday, September 15 in the Wood Center Mall from 11-3. Call the
Leadership Program at 474-1170, email leadership@..., or stop by our
office in Wood Center to reserve a space by Tuesday, September 13. Let us
know if you have any special needs like a tv/vcr, electricity, easels, etc.
Also let us know if you can contribute a "prize" that we can use to entice
folks to your booths! Free tickets, t-shirts, books, and homemade cookies
would make great prizes. We also have a food waiver if you would like to
have candy, store-bought cookies, or homemade goodies at your table.
Hello swimmers, its back to school season and you know that means.
Back to the pool! Times are listed on the calendar and bring friends,
co-workers or complete strangers. We definitely need more swimmers if
we're going to keep the pool. Word from Dave is that the money
situation is not good, so help keep us alive by swimming and recruiting.
This saterday is a timed 30 min swim to check everyones pace as we get
going into the fall season. After that is a breakfast potluck at
Pieter's house. There will be directions at practice. Its probably
best if we don't post personal information here on the site, since its
veiwable by anyone on the net. Sorry for not catching that one sooner,
but we're all getting used to this message system. -RJ
RJ, thanks for setting this up. I will have to live vicariously
through the website until I begin swimming again. Which will probably
be after the steelhead are swimming, the ducks stop flying, and the
rivers become so full of ice you can't fit a kayak in them. Cheers and
go FAST go.
Hi Gang,
I won't be able to make practice this Monday, August 29th, until
near the end of workout. The following is what I have for workout-

Hello swimmers, i see that there are only 8 members, so tell everyone
else to join! Dave has annouced that our new monday-wednesday practice
time will start this monday aug 29. I've added all of our practices to
the calendar <- along with Pieter's breakfast potluck on the 10th and
the triathalon on the 24th.
