Hi,

The open water swim we are hosting is coming up June 27:
http://www.akmswim.org/chenasplash/index.html. We already have a
handful of entries.

We are getting close enough to the date that I want to start firming up
volunteers and such. Please email me back and let me know:

1. If you are going to enter the 1K or 5K.
2. If you are willing to show up and volunteer on race day (if you
are swimming, please volunteer for the race you are not entered in).
3. If you are willing to provide safety out on the course in a canoe
or kayak.
4. If you have a canoe or kayak to use in the effort (I have 4
kayaks, but I'll need some help with transport).
5. If you have friends/relatives willing to come and help out.


I have a meeting with the guy who oversees Chena Lake on June 1, and I'd
like to have some handle on how many volunteers we'll have out there.
The whole show should be over by noon, so even if you don't plan on
entering please come and volunteer.

Also, I am still looking for volunteers for the following tasks:

* Coming up with a giveaway package (~$20 worth of stuff, maybe a
race cap, a t-shirt and free crap we can get hold of)
* Lining up awards (ribbons by age group, small overall trophies?)
* It would be nice if we could get one of those race clocks and a
portable PA system.

Sponsors would be swell if someone wants to obtain them; otherwise, I am
willing to front the money for anyone willing to do the leg work on the
above tasks.
